Privacy Policy

How Cipherly handles your information, and the rights you have over it.

Last updated: October 16, 2026

1. Information We Collect

Cipherly has no account, no sign-up and no server of ours. It collects very little, and almost all of it stays on your phone.

1.1 Data Stored on Your Device

  • Your play: the puzzles you have started, solved or skipped, your guesses, hints, stars, solve times and the days you solved the daily. This is what powers your levels, streak and stats. It lives in a database on your device.
  • Your coins: a list of the coins you have earned, received or used, kept in the same database. Coins live only on this device: they are not stored with us or with Google, so a reinstall starts them again.
  • Your settings: theme, language, whether haptics, mistake-checking and the daily reminder are on, and the reminder time.
  • Counters the App needs: when you last opened the daily gift, how many videos you have watched today, when the starter offer began, and when an ad was last shown, so ads stay occasional.
  • Whether you own Pro or Remove ads, as Google Play last told the App.

None of this is sent to us. If your device uses Android’s backup, Android may copy the App’s progress database to your Google account as part of that backup; this is controlled by your device’s backup setting, and we cannot see it.

1.2 Data Collected Automatically by Services the App Uses

  • Advertising identifier and ad information: the free version shows ads from Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, AdMob accesses your device’s advertising ID and related device information. Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA and the UK) the App first asks for your consent through Google’s consent form, and you can reopen it at any time from Settings › Ad choices. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings. Pro removes all ads, and the App then makes no ad requests. Remove ads takes away the banner and the ads between levels; the optional videos for coins stay available.
  • Purchase information: Google Play tells the App which of its products you own and when a coin pack has been paid for, so the coins can be added. We never see your payment card or account details.
  • Crash and performance data: the App contains no crash-reporting or analytics SDK. Google Play may collect anonymous crash and ANR data from devices whose owners chose to share diagnostics with developers, and shows it to us in the Play Console.

1.3 Data We Do Not Collect

  • Your name, e-mail address or any account — there is none to create
  • Your location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera — the App does not ask for them
  • Your guesses, times or streak — they never leave your device through the App

2. How We Use Information

Your play data is used on your device to show your puzzle, your progress, your streak and your stats, and to keep your coin balance and to decide when a gift, an offer or an ad is due. Advertising data is used by Google AdMob to show and measure ads. We do not sell your data and we do not receive it.

3. Notifications

The daily reminder is a notification the App schedules on your own device. It involves no server and no push service. It is off until you turn it on, Android asks for your permission first, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings.

4. Third-Party Services

  • Google AdMob and Google’s consent form (User Messaging Platform): ads and consent in the free version. How Google uses information from apps that use its services
  • Google Play Billing: coin packs, Remove ads and Pro. Google Privacy Policy

5. Your Rights & Choices

  • See it: everything the App holds about you is visible in the App.
  • Delete it: Settings › Reset progress deletes your solved puzzles, streak and stats (your coins and purchases are kept, because they were earned or paid for). Uninstalling the App removes its data from your device. There is no copy with us to delete.
  • Ads: reopen your consent choice in Settings › Ad choices (where shown), reset your advertising ID in your device settings, or buy Remove ads or Pro.
  • Reminder: turn it off in Settings, or in your device’s notification settings.

6. Children’s Privacy

Cipherly is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will help.

7. Data Retention

Your data stays on your device for as long as the App is installed, or until you reset your progress. We hold no copy. Data held by Google (advertising, Play, backup) is governed by Google’s own policies.

8. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above, and a change that affects what is collected will be made before the App collects it.
