1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing or using the Cipherly mobile application (“the App”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of the Service

Cipherly is a cryptogram puzzle game. Each puzzle is a quotation in which every letter has been replaced by another, and you decode it. The App offers:

• Levels in ten collections of quotations, each shown with its author and work once solved
• A daily puzzle, a streak and statistics
• A Check that marks wrong letters, and hints (reveal a letter, reveal a word, skip a level) paid for with coins
• Coins, earned by playing, from a daily gift and from optional rewarded videos, or bought
• An optional daily reminder

The App and its puzzles are in English. The App is entertainment. It does not provide advice of any kind.

3. Your Data

Your progress is stored on your device. There is no account and no cloud service of ours, so keeping your device and its backups safe is your responsibility: if you lose the device without a backup, your progress goes with it. See the Privacy Policy for what is and is not collected.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App lawfully and not to reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble it, to interfere with the services it relies on (Google Play, Google AdMob), to use automated means to play it or to generate ad impressions or clicks, or to circumvent the purchase of Pro.

5. Purchases and Payments

Cipherly is free, and every collection is free to play: collections open as you solve puzzles, or earlier with coins, and an earlier month of daily puzzles opens with coins or with Pro. The free version shows a small banner on the puzzle screen and an advertisement between levels, and offers optional rewarded videos for coins. Everything sold in the App is optional, and every price is shown by Google Play, in your local currency, before you confirm:

• Coin packs add coins to your balance on this device. Coins are used only inside the App, have no cash value, cannot be transferred or exchanged, and are not restored on another device or after a reinstall.
• Remove ads is a one-time purchase that takes away the banner and the ads between levels. The optional videos stay available.
• Pro is a one-time purchase, with no subscription and no renewal: no ads, 2,000 coins once and 100 coins a day while you play, double coins for every solve, 3 streak freezes a month, every collection and every earlier month of daily puzzles open at once, and 6 extra colour themes.

Payment is processed by Google Play, and refunds are handled under Google Play’s refund policy. Remove ads and Pro are tied to the Google account that bought them; use Restore purchases to get them back on a new device. If Google Play reports that a purchase has been refunded or reversed, what it unlocked is withdrawn.

6. Content

Quotations in the App are selected from works in the public domain and from the developer’s own text, and are shown with their attribution. The App’s design, code and other original material belong to its developer and may not be copied or distributed without permission.

7. Disclaimers

The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that a quotation’s attribution is beyond dispute; if you find a mistake, please tell us.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the App. Total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months before the claim.

9. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend access for use that breaches these Terms.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable law, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will first be handled by good-faith discussion.
