1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Nix mobile application (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Nix is a subscription tracker for Android that:
- Keeps a list of the subscriptions you enter, with their prices, currencies, billing cycles, categories and renewal dates
- Shows what your active subscriptions cost per month, your upcoming renewals, and your spending per category
- Reminds you with a notification a number of days before each renewal, as you choose
- Counts what you have saved by cancelling subscriptions
Nix only records what you tell it. It does not cancel, pause, or change any subscription with the company that provides it; cancelling a subscription in Nix marks it as cancelled in the App only. Nix is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any of the services it lets you track.
3. Reminders Are Best-Effort
Reminders are scheduled on your phone by Android. Battery savers, “do not disturb” modes, notification settings, manufacturer power management, or turning notifications off can delay or prevent them. A reminder is also only as accurate as the renewal date and billing cycle you entered.
Nix is a help, not a guarantee: it is not responsible for a charge you did not want, a missed cancellation, or a missed deadline. Always check renewal terms with the provider of the subscription.
4. Free and Premium
Nix is free for up to 5 subscriptions, with every tracking, reminder, chart and savings feature. Premium is a single one-time purchase, processed by Google Play, that unlocks unlimited subscriptions and backup export and import. It is not a subscription: there is no renewal, and nothing to cancel.
The price is shown in the App before you confirm. Refund requests are handled through Google Play in accordance with Google Play’s refund policies.
5. Your Data
Everything you enter is stored on your device, as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for keeping your own copy if you need one: uninstalling the App or using Reset All Data deletes it, and we hold no copy to restore it from.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:
- Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Redistribute modified copies of the App
7. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, code, graphics, and logos, is the intellectual property of its developer, Naim Oudayet, and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Service names shown in the App belong to their owners and are used only to name the subscriptions you track. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without prior written permission.
8. Disclaimers & Warranties
The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. In particular, we do not warrant that:
- Every reminder will be delivered, or delivered on time, on every device
- Monthly totals or savings figures are free of error
- The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including subscription charges, renewal fees, or missed cancellations — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App.
Our total liability for any claim related to the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for it.
10. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We reserve the right to discontinue the App or any of its features with reasonable notice.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first.
