How USSD Guard handles your information, and the rights you have over it.

Last updated: September 27, 2026

The Short Version

USSD Guard collects nothing about you. There is no account, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no server of ours. Every popup the App reads, and everything it logs, stays on your phone; the App's only network activity is Google Play Billing: checking and processing your purchase, and the diagnostic logs Google's billing library sends to Google on its own. (Android may back up the App's small settings file to your Google account if you have device backup on — see section 5.)

1. What the App Processes — On Your Device Only

1.1 Operator dialog content

  • Popup text: When a SIM Toolkit (STK) or USSD dialog appears, the App's accessibility service reads that dialog's text on your device to decide whether you asked for it. The text is stored in a local log together with the time, the decision taken, and technical details of the window. Popups the App judges to be your own — a balance check you just dialed, a SIM menu you opened yourself — are left alone and not logged.
  • SIM and operator: Which SIM slot the popup came from and that SIM’s operator name (for example “SIM 2 · Ooredoo TN”), so a dual-SIM phone shows which operator pushed it. Read from the phone without any permission; stored in the same local log. The App never reads your phone number or any SIM identifier.
  • Short codes: Dial codes mentioned inside such popups (for example subscription codes) are recorded in the same local log, so you keep evidence of what your operator pushed.

1.2 Data you create

  • Missed-popup reports: Any “missed popup” notes you write.
  • Settings: The protection mode you chose, the trial start date, whether the one-time unlock was purchased, and whether you finished the introduction and accepted the accessibility disclosure. The same small file holds two timestamps the guard uses: when it last checked in (to warn you if it stopped running) and when you last used your dialer or SIM menu (so it leaves your own requests alone).

1.3 The accessibility service's strict scope

  • The service reads only windows belonging to SIM Toolkit and system telephony apps. If the readable window belongs to any other app, the event is discarded without reading its content.
  • The service never presses OK, Send, or any button that accepts something, and never types. Dismissal is the global Back action; only when a popup ignores Back does it press that popup’s own Cancel button. It cannot consent to anything on your behalf.
  • To leave your own requests alone, the service also notes when your phone’s dialer or SIM menu comes to the front — never what is on those screens.
  • No window content is ever transmitted off the device. There is nowhere for it to go: the App has no server.

2. What We Do Not Collect

  • SMS — the App does not request the SMS permission at all
  • Contacts, photos, files, or location
  • Your name, email address, or any account — there is no sign-up
  • Analytics, advertising identifiers, or usage statistics
  • Screen content of any app other than SIM Toolkit / telephony dialogs

3. Purchases

The optional one-time "USSD Guard Pro" unlock is processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We never see your payment details; the App only stores an "unlocked" flag on your device. Google's handling of the payment is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.

4. Third-Party Services

The App uses exactly one third-party service:

  • Google Play Billing — checks and processes the one-time purchase. Its library, which Google provides and the App cannot switch off, also sends Google its own diagnostic logs. Google Privacy Policy

There are no advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs, and no crash-reporting SDKs in the App.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

  • The popup log lives only on your device. Entries are automatically deleted after 180 days, and the log keeps at most the newest 5,000 entries.
  • Settings → Tools → Delete guard log (under “Your data”) removes every logged popup at once.
  • The popup log is excluded from Android's device backup, so it is never copied to your Google account. Only the small settings file described in section 1.2 (protection mode, trial start date, whether Pro was purchased, the introduction and disclosure flags, and the guard’s two timestamps) is eligible for Android's own backup, so a reinstall does not restart your trial or lose your purchase. It contains no popup text and no SIM or operator information. That backup is handled by Google under your account's backup setting; it never reaches us.
  • Clearing the App's storage, or uninstalling it, permanently deletes the popup log. No copy of it exists anywhere else, for us or anyone to recover.

6. Children's Privacy

USSD Guard is not directed at children under 13, and since it collects no personal information, it collects none from children either.

7. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes — for example, if a future feature ever adds network functionality — the "Last updated" date above will change first, before that feature ships.
