1. Information We Collect
Wealth Note is designed with a privacy-first approach. We collect minimal data to provide you with the best experience.
1.1 Data You Provide
- Financial Records: Transaction amounts, descriptions, categories, dates and payment methods, and the bills, recurring entries and budgets you set up. This data is stored only on your device.
- Categories & Preferences: Custom categories, theme setting, and language preference.
1.2 Data Collected Automatically
- Crash Reports: When the App crashes or hits an error, a report is sent via Firebase Crashlytics so we can fix it: the stack trace, device model, operating system version and an identifier for this installation. It contains none of your financial records. Crash reporting is on by default and can be turned off at any time in Settings › Analytics.
- Advertising Identifier: The free version of the App shows ads supplied by Google AdMob. AdMob accesses your device's advertising ID in order to serve and measure those ads. You can reset or delete that identifier in your device settings (Settings › Google › Ads), and a Premium subscription removes ads from the App entirely.
- Purchase Information: Google Play tells us whether a subscription is active or expired so the App knows what to unlock. We never see your payment card details.
1.3 Data We Do Not Collect
- Bank account, card numbers, or any bank connection — the App never links to a financial institution
- Precise location data
- Contacts, photos, or other personal files
- Your name, email address, or any account with us — there is no sign-up and no account to create
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the App's core functionality
- Process and manage your Premium subscription
- Improve the App's performance and fix bugs
- Respond to your support requests
Your financial records are never used for advertising and never leave your device unless you export them yourself. Ads in the free version are served by Google AdMob using your device's advertising identifier — not your transactions, categories, or balances, which AdMob has no access to. We do not sell your data to anyone.
3. Data Storage & Security
3.1 Local-First Storage
All your financial data is stored locally on your device in an encrypted SQLite database. The App functions fully offline without any data leaving your device. Reminders and alerts are notifications scheduled and shown by your device itself; nothing is sent to a server to produce them.
3.2 Cloud Backup
Cloud backup is not available in this release. When it ships, it will write a backup file to your own Google Drive account — we will not host or have access to it — and this policy will be updated before that happens. Until then, the only way data leaves your device is an export you perform yourself.
3.3 Security Measures
- The database is encrypted on your device with AES-256; the key is held in the platform's secure storage (Android Keystore), not in the App
- Encrypted transport (TLS) for the network requests the App does make
- No plaintext storage of sensitive information
- The App has no server, no account and no login, so there is no remote store to breach
4. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Google Play Billing: Processes subscription payments. Google Privacy Policy
- Firebase Crashlytics: Receives crash and error reports (on by default; Settings › Analytics turns it off). Firebase Privacy Policy
- Google AdMob: Serves the ads shown in the free version, and accesses your advertising identifier to do so. How Google uses information from apps that use its services
5. Your Rights & Choices
You have full control over your data:
- Access: All your data is visible within the App at any time.
- Export: From the Settings screen you can export your records as PDF, Excel or CSV reports, or as a complete JSON backup that the App can import again.
- Delete: You can delete individual transactions, categories, or all data from within the App.
- Deleting Everything: Uninstalling the App removes its database from your device. There is no copy held anywhere else for us to delete.
- Opting Out of Crash Reports: Settings › Analytics › Crash Reports, at any time.
- Opting Out of Ads: A Premium subscription removes them; your advertising identifier can also be reset or deleted in your device settings.
6. Children's Privacy
Wealth Note is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
7. Data Retention
Your local data remains on your device for as long as the App is installed. If you uninstall the App, local data is deleted with it.
Crash report data is retained for up to 90 days for debugging purposes and is then automatically deleted.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and may notify you through the App. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
